Nathan Mercieca

DIGITAL ANIMATION

student bio

Nate Mercieca is an aspiring character modeler in the 3D animation program at CU Denver. For the past 4 years he has spent his time focusing on learning a range of character styles, from hyper-realistic to stylized, and studying anatomy in depth. Nate was introduced to 3D art around the age of 4 by his father.

Despite only toying with the art form on and off throughout his childhood, this initial introduction planted a seed that eventually came to culmination when he moved to Colorado from Michigan and decided to pursue a BFA with an emphasis in 3D animation. During the summer after junior year, Nate worked at Armstrong White, a marketing and advertising animation studio in Detroit, as a 3D generalist. He hopes to enter either the video game, film, or collectables industry creating characters after graduation.
